Vision of Arpookara Grama Panchayat
"To develop Arpookara into a model Grama Panchayat that ensures social justice, economic progress and environmental protection through public participation and sustainable development, providing an improved quality of life for all."
The vision is to create a people-centric and green Panchayat by preserving Arpookara's unique strengths, including its educational heritage, agricultural wealth, water resources and cultural diversity, while harnessing emerging development opportunities.
Mission of Arpookara Grama Panchayat
1. Infrastructure Development
- Ensure safe drinking water and sanitation facilities for everyone.
- Improve roads, public transportation facilities and street lighting.
- Strengthen digital services and e-governance systems.
2. Social Welfare
- Effectively implement welfare schemes for women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and public health.
- Create more opportunities for education and skill development.
3. Economic Development
- Modernise the agricultural sector and provide support to farmers.
- Promote self-employment, small-scale enterprises and Kudumbashree enterprises.
- Provide employment-oriented skill training and entrepreneurship support to youth.
4. Environmental Protection
- Strengthen a comprehensive waste management system.
- Protect water bodies and wetlands.
- Implement afforestation, water conservation and climate-friendly initiatives.
5. Participatory Governance
- Increase public participation in Grama Sabhas.
- Ensure transparent and accountable governance.
- Incorporate public opinions in the planning and implementation of development projects.
